Who Plays Miracle League Baseball?
We welcome girls and boys ages 5 - 22 to play in our Saturday Youth Leagues and adults over 22 years old to play in our Sunday Adult League — regardless of previous experience or level of ability.
Our athletes represent children and adults who cannot participate in a mainstream league. They can either be pitched to or hit off of a tee; whatever they are comfortable with. And if they can’t hold a bat, they can still play!
The Miracle League of Massachusetts is dedicated to providing a safe and enjoyable baseball experience for people with cognitive, physical, emotional or behavioral disabilities.
All Youth athletes are assigned a volunteer buddy to assist them with the game to whatever extent is necessary, from helping the athlete hit the ball, to rounding the bases on foot or in a wheelchair, keeping them engaged while waiting for their turn at bat, or providing distractions.
Frequently Asked Questions
What does it cost to play Miracle League baseball?
There is no fee to participate in the Miracle League of Massachusetts, thanks to the generous support of our sponsors and donors!
What equipment does my child need? Do we need to bring anything to the games?
On Opening Day, every player receives a Red Sox team jersey and cap to wear for the games. Players are welcome to bring baseball gloves (although it is not necessary) and can wear any shoes. The league provides baseball bats and balls for team use. There are drinking fountains at the Joseph Lalli Miracle Field.
What if we can’t make it to one of our scheduled games?
We know there will be times when you can’t make it to a game. That’s OK; attendance is voluntary! But we do ask you to notify us at volunteer@miracleleagueofma.com as soon as you know you won’t be unable to attend coordinate buddies.
Do players have the same buddies throughout the season?
Unfortunately, most of our buddies are unable to volunteer every week of the season. Therefore, we cannot assign the same buddy to a specific athlete each week. If that will be a problem for your child, we can try to make accommodations.
Do I have to live near the field or in a certain town to be eligible to participate?
No! Anyone who wants to play Miracle League of Massachusetts baseball can play, no matter what town you live in. You don't even have to be a resident of Massachusetts!
