Become a Buddy
Make a new friend and gain a new perspective. Anyone 12 years and older can give individuals with special needs the gift of baseball by volunteering as a Buddy. As a buddy, you’ll be paired with one player for one game. Working one-on-one with our players will warm your heart and give you a new perspective on life.
What’s involved?
- Assist the athlete according to his/her needs
- Protect the player at all times
- Encourage the athlete to participate
- Celebrate the athlete’s successes; high fives or fist bumps are a must!
- Have fun!
Prerequisites/age requirements
- Lots of enthusiasm and compassion
- No baseball skills necessary
- Volunteers must pre-register to assist at our weekly games
- Must be 16+ for the 9:00 game
- Must be 14+ for the 10:15 game
- Must be 12+ for the 11:30 game
There is no minimum commitment for the number of games or weeks you volunteer, although we prefer if individuals can help at multiple games or on multiple weeks. You will be able select the specific games/weeks you'd like to sign up for just before the season begins.
Group Buddies
Volunteering as a group builds camaraderie and a sense of community involvement. It is a lesson that cannot be taught in a classroom, practice field or board room. Athletic teams, corporate groups, civic groups, church groups, school clubs and others always say the same thing: "We can't wait to do this again!" Coaching
No practices. No play-offs. No angry competition. No angry parents. Just fun! You don't even have to know much about baseball. Coach a Miracle League team for only an hour or so once a week in the spring or fall and discover the most rewarding coaching experience you'll ever have. Game-day Volunteers
Welcome athletes and their families, be an announcer or umpire, or amp up the spirit as a mid-inning DJ. For more information on these positions, contact us at [email protected].

Event & Organizational Volunteers
We rely on volunteers to help with everything from athlete and volunteer recruitment to ordering uniforms, trophies and t-shirts; doing maintenance projects at Miracle Field; organizing Bingo nights and dance parties; and more.
